Where We Search

# Houston reads by ring. So does our search.

Rent and inventory age change sharply between rings. Downtown averaged $2,260 while North Houston averaged about $1,191 in July 2026 (RentCafe). A renter can move a few miles and halve the rent — which is exactly why where you look matters as much as what you look at.

Named submarkets

## The submarkets renters ask for by name

Some places don't behave like the ring they sit in. These get their own page.

### Medical Center

Apartments around the Texas Medical Center, matched to shift cycles and residency schedules rather than to a generic nine-to-five commute.

### Katy

Newer master-planned stock along the Grand Parkway and I-10, with larger floor plans and a commute that runs on two of the busiest corridors in the metro.

We present price, commute, and inventory. We don't characterize any area's safety, vibe, or who lives there — that's a Fair Housing line we don't go near, and you shouldn't trust a locator who does.
